Jewson is pleased to announce that it is the main sponsor of international cycling team, MI Racing.

Coventry Transport Museum, the home of British cycling, played host to the sponsorship launch. David Harmon the well-known cycling commentator attended to offer his support to Team Jewson MI Racing.

MI Racing is a cycling team of World, European and British cycling champions based in Coventry. MI Racing was formed in 1997 by renowned cyclist Mick Ives. It has been one of the UK's most successful cycling racing teams ever since. The team has made a name for itself winning over 1,000 races, all over the UK and mainland Europe.

Jewson has a special link with the world of competitive cycling. Its own CEO, Peter Hindle MBE, has raced very successfully - representing Great Britain on a number of occasions. This interest in cycling is shared across the company and was the inspiration for a marathon cycle ride last year. The Tour de Jewson saw staff and customers cycling 8,398 miles over 11 days raising £20,000 for its 'together' charity Help the Hospices.

Peter Hindle MBE said: "Following on from the recent Tour de Jewson, our continued interest in the cycling world through sponsorship of MI Racing will help support emerging sporting talent. Cycling is not only a healthy sport to be involved in, it is also a sustainable form of transportation making it the ideal sport for our employees to engage in as part of a healthy lifestyle."

Mick Ives, Director of MI Racing, said: "It is wonderful that a driving force such as Jewson is supporting the team, with such an obvious interest in the sport. Each team member will be proudly competing in the well-known blue and yellow Jewson colours this year. We've already started the season brilliantly, with two fantastic successes - the Midland Cyclocross Championships and the National Championships."
