Download a POI File for Your Sat Nav
You can download POI files here to install on your Sat Nav in
order to find the nearest Jewson branch, wherever you are in the
UK.

Garmin
Navman
The following instructions decribe how to download and install
the Jewson POI file on your satellite navigation device.
Installing the POI file on your TomTom GO
- Download the POI file here.
Save the file on your computer by selecting "save" when prompted.
Save the file in a place where you can easily find it again for
step 4 of the installation, e.g. on your Desktop or in My
Documents.
- Connect your TomTom GO to your PC using the USB data cable. The
USB cable is supplied with your TomTom GO product. Ensure that
TomTom GO is powered using the AC adapter. Your TomTom GO is now
visible in "My Computer" as a "Removable Disk".
- Unzip the contents of the downloaded POI zip file. This can be
done by right clicking on the file and selecting 'Extract
All'.
- Go to the directory on the local hard drive of your PC where
you unzipped the POI files (jewsonBranches.ov2 &
jewsonBranches.bmp) Select and copy the files. You must copy the
files - do NOT copy the folder.
- Go to "My Computer" on your PC; Go to "Removable Disk". This is
now the TomTom hard disk.
- Open the map folder. The folder will have the same name as the
map you are currently using on your TomTom device. This is
typically "GP_plus_major_roads_of_WE". Paste the copied files
directly into this folder.
The POI file is now successfully installed on your TomTom GO.
You will now be able to navigate to any Jewson store using the
usual methods.
Installing the POI file on your Garmin:
- Download the POI file here. Save the file on your computer by selecting
"save" when prompted. Save the file in a place where you can easily
find it again for step 5 of the installation, e.g. on your Desktop
or in My Documents.
- Download the Garmin POI Loader software. POI Loader is free
software for your computer that lets you upload customized points
of interest (POIs) to your compatible Garmin device. With the help
of POI Loader, you can update your compatible Garmin GPS with the
latest restaurants, safety camera locations, tourist destinations
and more. You can get it here: http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/
- Unzip the contents of the downloaded POI zip file. This can be
done by right clicking on the file and selecting 'Extract
All'.
- Use POI Loader to find the POI files on your computer and
upload the data to your compatible Garmin GPS or third-party SD
card.
The POI file is now successfully installed on your Garmin
device. You will now be able to navigate to any Jewson store using
the usual methods.
Installing the POI file on your Navman:
- Download the POI file here. Save the file on your computer by selecting
"save" when prompted. Save the file in a place where you can easily
find it again for step 5 of the installation, e.g. on your Desktop
or in My Documents
- You will need the Desktop Connectivity Kit (requires a separate
purchase) in order to upload the POI files to your Navman device.
This can be purchased at the Navman website: http://www.navman.com/.
- Connect your Navman device to your PC using the USB data cable.
The USB data cable is supplied with the Desktop Connectivity
Kit.
- Unzip the contents of the downloaded POI zip file. This can be
done by right clicking on the file and selecting 'Extract
All'.
- Open the Navman SmartST software and select File, Open Text
File, choosing the POI CSV file you extracted in step 4 above.
- On the toolbar click the button called "Save to Device".
- When the Save dialog box opens, next to Icon File click Browse
to locate the jewsonBranches.bmp file (this identifies the POI on
your device)
- Click Copy POI
The POI file is now successfully installed on your Navman
device. You will now be able to navigate to any Jewson store using
the usual methods.
