GLOUCESTER TAKE ON IRISH IN MIDDX SEVENS

The draw was announced today for the first round of the Middlesex Sevens with Gloucester taking on London Irish.

The Middlesex Charity Sevens returns this year with all 12 Premier League teams participating in one of Europe's biggest club 7s events.

It's a full day of fun and running rugby with the Guinness Premiership sides joined by four invitation teams in a knock-out competition.

The team to beat last season was Harlequins who defeated The Army in a nail biting finale, with fine performances from all players. Teams will look to prevent Harlequins retaining the title, as the last time they won they went on to claim five successive titles.

The knock-out format of the day will see first round losers being entered into the Plate competition.

With a total of 22 games, 30,000 fans and fancy dress, the stage is set for an amazing day. This year proceeds are distributed to the PRA Benevolent fund and the RFU Injured Player's Foundation.

Draw:

Army v Bath Rugby

Gloucester Rugby v London Irish
