Solar PV Systems
Photovoltaic panels only need daylight to start producing
electricity from solar radiation. A system can charge a large bank
of batteries for electricity use when required, or can be connected
to the mains to sell back excess watts to the network. As the power
from photovoltaic cells requires nothing but solar radiation, they
are a very green alternative to electricity from
fossil-fuel-burning power stations. Grants equal to as much as 50%
of installation cost have been paid by the government, to encourage
uptake of this green alternative.
