Joinery and Ironmongery

Jewson has been known for its vast range of quality internal and external timber products for over 160 years. That range now includes everything from doors, windows and ironmongery to conservatories, cubicles and stairs, and is backed up by our team of experts who can offer all the specialist advice the trade professional could ever need.

You can rest assured that the joinery products you buy from us are of the highest quality. We've entered into supplier partnerships with some of the world's leading manufacturers, including Jeld-Wen, Garador, Henderson, Premdor, Richard Burbidge and Velux.

Doors and Windows

We offer an extensive range of internal and external doors and a wide choice of competitively priced, quality timber windows and uPVC products.

Doors and windows form a major aesthetic feature of your house and many styles and designs are available, in materials such as softwood, hardwood or uPVC, plus the option of steel or fibreglass for doors.

The differences between the two different wood types used to be down to cost and quality, but be aware that with new technologies those old prejudices are certainly no longer valid. It used to be the case that the more common softwood was cheaper but prone to rot, but with modern preservatives and long warranties, you can now buy beautiful and traditional softwood window frames that are guaranteed to last.

On the other hand, hardwood, which has always been highly desirable for its solidity and durability, is becoming ever more affordable.

uPVC, meanwhile, has often been seen as the low-maintenance option, and bear in mind that it does not need to be white. Many manufacturers now offer their uPVC ranges with different finishes including a very attractive wood effect.

Steel or fibreglass construction offer further alternatives for doors, given their almost zero-maintenance requirements. Based on a traditional multi-panel design with a sandwiched insulation, these types of doors are sturdy and do not rot, and are sometimes preferred to uPVC because they offer the design feature of concealed hinges.

One of the many prestige brand names in our stock, Jeld-Wen is an established international manufacturer of windows, external and internal doors, patio doors, garage doors and stairs. Jeld-Wen offers the widest range in the UK, and boasts a strong reputation in the self-build market with British-made products such as its FireGuard internal door.

Garage Doors

Our garage doors are available in a wide variety of designs in steel, timber and GRP. From pre-finished ribbed steel doors, through to panelled steel doors, from elegant traditional timber styles to the perfect definition of maintenance-free gloss-white or woodgrain GRP, there is a choice of garage door to suit every situation and every budget. Most up & over and sectional doors can be electrically operated using premium quality remote control operating systems, also available from Jewson.

Our steel garage doors offer a great combination of robust construction and excellent value for money. All doors are offered with Canopy Gear which operates in vertical tracks on the side of the door's side-frame. When fully open, the door forms a canopy of about one third of the door's height above the opening.

Staircases offer many design possibilities. In new-build homes, they can really set the tone in terms of visual appeal.

Staircases such as Jeld-Wen's Bespoke Stairs range carry a 10 year materials and workmanship guarantee, with quality the key to the timber selected. Whether you are choosing standard stock flights or made to measure, a choice of timber is available, along with a wide range of options and accessories including newel posts, handrails and balusters.

We supply mouldings from British specialist Richard Burbidge. Mouldings can be applied in almost every room of the home, and can be practical as well as decorative.

Mouldings are often used to hide gaps, cover rough edges or to tidy up imperfect joins, but they can also simply enhance the style and character of a room.

Richard Burbidge offers hundreds of different styles and profiles to choose from, so you'll be sure to find the moulding that you are looking for.
