Standards and grades guide

Plywood Durability EN636

EN636-2 – Plywood for use in humid conditions.
EN636-3 – Plywood for use in exterior conditions. All panel products should be sealed (edges and faces) when being used in a permanent manner externally.
BS1088-1:2003 – “Marine” plywood should have outstanding resistance to bio-deterioration (durability) over time. Biological durability of marine plywood is expected to be greater than that of plywood of the same species that meets the requirements of BS EN 636-3.

Plywood glue bond is divided into three classes dependent on moisture resistance.
Class 1 – For interior use (urea glue).
Class 2 – For humid conditions (melamine glue).
Class 3 – For exterior conditions (phenol glue).

S/BB – S face/ BB reverse. S face quality allows for staining and lacquering.
C+/C – C+ face sanded/ C reverse. This quality allows for live knots and offers a solid face.
