Scandinavian pine solid timber from certified forests is kiln dried to a target moisture content of 12% ±2% and selected for internal joinery. The timber is then further graded and cut to length to remove all knots and other defects that detract from the appearance and performance of the material. Following trimming, the cut ends are finger jointed and glued together to produce continuous single pieces. Finger jointing allows continuous lengths of up to 6,000mm to be produced. The individual timber pieces are then moulded and sanded to profile, ready for painting. Two coats of primer are applied before one coat of white semi-gloss acrylic paint in NCS S 0500-N is added to produce the fully finished condition, ready for installation.
The mouldings may be fixed to walls using nails, screws or a suitable adhesive. The skirtings may also be fixed using a bespoke stainless steel clip, allowing rapid installation and easy removal if required.
A colour-matched wax concealer is available to cover nail heads and any depressions in the timber surface. A touch-up paint kit in a matching colour is available to conceal scratches, abrasions and chips in the surface.
