The Oakey Sandpaper 230 x 280mm (W x L) Assorted Light Brown is ideal for smoothing wood, plaster, painted surfaces and varnished surfaces. The product is used to remove material from surfaces, either to make them smoother (for example, in painting and wood finishing), to remove a layer of material (such as old paint), or sometimes to make the surface rougher (for example, as preparation for gluing). The sandpaper is made of abrasive minerals like aluminium oxide or garnet that are glued onto a paper backing. Aluminium oxide is insoluble in water and its crystalline form helps in cutting or scraping.
