It has a solid forged blade, steel shaft and metal hilt with a wooden crosspiece for added comfort. The long blade tapers towards the end and penetrates easily through hard, heavy earth. Treads on the blade help increase the amount of pressure that can be applied and reduce the risk of slippage.
