The coping has a water-drip groove which helps prevent staining on the face of the wall. The top of a wall or pier is often the most exposed part of a structure and therefore very susceptible to the effects of the weather. The concrete coping allows rainwater to cascade away from the wall safeguarding the vulnerable areas in the walling systems to provide longevity to the wall structure.
